SaRASHI BoLT 10 Meters - 100% CoTToN FABRiC
This is a new bolt of sarashi, a 100% cotton fabric traditional and ubiquitous to japanese culture. It is 10 meters long and 33 cms wide. Flat weave. It is an open weave fabric similar to gauze but not quite as crude. Like a sort of cheesecloth. Very absorbent and great for dyeing!!! It also makes super soft and supple scarves!!! Sarashi is the fabric used for tenugui, a type of hand towel/head wrapper/ art fabric that we see all over in japan. Also, traditionally used to wrap the belly during pregnancy, or to stabilize the belly to ameliorate back pain. It is also used for reducing the bulge of breasts for folk who do cosplay and theater. Crafts, sewing, garments, household uses, this fabric is almighty!!!
And did I mention the best use for it??? Gift it to your friend for their fabric stash!!
