TENUGUI - Cotton TieDye Scarf

$24.99

Itajime shibori tenugui. These look great backlit. see the photos!!

Super-psychedelic sacred geometry freak flag for you to wear!! or display!! or best idea yet, give to somebody you LOVE as a gift!!! This pattern reminds me of little flowers or Venetian glass.

This is a 100% cotton sarashi tenugui. A tenugui is versatile and there are so many things you can do with it, including wrap your head or neck, wrap and carry goods, display it like a tapestry on a wall or in a window. or on a car dash. You could even consider it fabric for your latest creation! Cut it up mandala by mandala and use it for applique or whatnot. Bright and happy color scheme will resonate thru no matter how you use it. It is a smile flag!!

This is a nice light sarashi, like a strong gauze. It is originally woven narrow like this , so there are selvedges on both sides. The ends are unfinished.

Folded and bound and dyed by me using procion fiber reactive dyes. This type of shibori is called itajime, although i do it in a different way than it is done in the traditional Japanese version. Itajime means clamped between boards , and I do not use clamps or boards, but rubber bands. Sometimes this is called Sekka Itajime, or snow flower itajime, the snow crystal always being a isx-pointed crystal. This pattern is also one version of a traditional pattern called asanoha-gara, or hemp leaf pattern.

dimensions are 99 cms (39 inches) x 34.5 cms (13.6 inches)

Completely washable in hot water and detergent. Ironable too.

It's a scarf, or a collar, or a wall hanging, or an altar cloth, or a crystal mandala cloth, or fabric for your project, or the best gift ever. It's all that, and MORE!!! Get it and unleash all of its possibilities!!

Choose shipping option “regular shipping #1” for standard shipping, or “EMS shipping #1”, for expedited shipping.
